General Shipping Boxes Information

- CentralPack offers shipping boxes in multiple construction styles. Each shipping box style is designed maximize ease of use, maximize cost savings and increase shipping protection.

- Shipping boxes are typically made out of corrugated cardboard because of corrugated cardboard's strength and lightweight nature.

- Shipping boxes that are made out of corrugated cardboard are defined by their fluted inner layer called “corrugated medium” that is sandwiched between layers of linerboard resulting in corrugated.

- Corrugated shipping boxes are designed to resist impact and vibration damage, while being light enough to cost effectively ship products.

- CentralPack offers 640+ sizes of corrugated shipping boxes in many styles including RSC, Multi-Depth, Single Wall, Double Wall and FOL corrugated shipping box constuctions.

- If you need a corrugated shipping box that we do not offer as a stock size, please call us for a cutom quote.

- Please note that CentralPack is able to custom manufacture corrugated shipping boxes in minimum runs of 250 boxes depending on the size of the carton.

Additional Shipping Boxes Information

- Shipping boxes are measured by their Length x Width x Height. So a 12 x 10 x 6" box measures 6 inches long x 10 inches wide x 6 inches tall.

- Shipping boxes are measured by their inside dimensions. So a 12 x 10 x 6" box can fit an item that is 12 x 10 x 6" inside that box.

- The outside dimensions of a corrugated shipping box is going to be larger than it's inside dimensions. When determining the size of corrugated shipping boxes please know that the wall thickness for a single wall 200# or 32 ECT shipping box is 0.1625 inches.

- The strength of corrugated shipping boxes are measured in 2 ways. The first is in ECT or edge crush test. ECT tells you the amount of weight that can be placed on any given side of a constructed shipping box until that side gives way. The second way to measure the strength of a corrugated shipping box is the Mullen test. The Mullen test determines the amount of pressure per square inch that the corrugated board can withstand before it gives way. A 32ECT corrugated shipping box is approximately comparable to a 200# corrugated shipping box.
